Zaklina Hadzi-Zafirova of SCOOP Macedonia receives a certificate of recognition for investigation on a topic of exceptional public interest

Today MIM awarded the prizes from the competition “Nikola Mladenov” for best investigative stories in 2014.

First-prize winner is Ljubisha Arsic for the series of investigative articles on “Secret passport factory” published in the weekly “Fokus”.

Second-prize winner is Sonja Kolevska-Delevska for the series of investigative articles on “Raping juveniles in the correctional center “Tetovo”, published in the daily newspaper “Vest”.

Third-prize winners are journalists Vlado Apostolov, Saska Cvetkovska and Nela Lazarevic for the story “Skopje Landfill Tender Winner: neither experience, nor investments”, part of the joint investigation by BIRN and TV Nova.

The Commission decided to award two certificates of commendation for outstanding journalistic engagement to Valentina Stojanchevska for the story “Annually even 60 citizens go to prison by mistake”, published in the weekly “Fokus” and to Marija Mitevska for the story “Land sold, hotels unconstructed” published on the web site www.prizma.birn.eu.com

The Commission awarded a certificate of recognition to Zaklina Hadzi-Zafirova, Vladimir Kalinski and Vlatko Stojanovski for investigating the current topic “Air pollution in Macedonia”.
